When you arrive…

Currency in Cyprus:
The currency used to be in Cyprus pounds, as from the 1st January 2008 the Euro is now the currency. Cyprus pounds can be changed without charge until the 31st January in local banks and thereafter you can still change Cyprus notes at a charge.
What to Pack for different times of the year
Summer, May – October
First thing is the bikinis or shorts… These months are the hottest months of the year so pack light clothing, linen and cotton are good materials. String tops, skirts and dresses are worn mostly of a night time. There are no dress codes that will offend the religion unless entering churches when it is appropriate to cover up.
November and December:
Usually warm days with a light breeze of a night time. Ideal clothing to pack is mid weight clothing and light wool clothing. Jeans and jean jackets are appropriate types of material with maybe a thicker jumper incase. Some rain can occur.
January – March:
Occasional rain, mild days but winter clothing is more appropriate, jeans and light weight jumpers. February is an ideal time for skiing in the mountains so if you are planning on venturing in to the mountains, a coat should be worn but the temperatures are still not overly cold.
April:
Mild days and cooler nights, ideal for walking. Light clothing, winter jeans and light weight jumpers.
Bringing babies and what is available in Cyprus
Both international and local brands of baby food, pampers, baby cosmetics and rash creams etc are available in Cyprus. These items can be found in supermarkets and pharmacies. If you require some of these items before you arrive you can use our home shopping service.
Local language and religion
